This paper examines the auditory and visual qualities a specific space holds. The specific space used in this paper is Krøyers Plads on Christianshavn, which is also the temporary home for the experimental design structure ‘Dome of Visions’. Our main goal with the event ‘Waves of Transformation’ was to enhance the inherent and often unprecedented qualities in sound, pictures and history of the space in order to come closer to a definition of Krøyers Plads and DoV as transformative and performative spaces. Furthermore we sought to analyse the experience and participation the public had at our event, this being based on our ability to narrate a ‘story’ on a non-verbal level. We have concluded that performativity is closely linked to the specific space, its history and cultural status and the level of interaction from the public.
