Abstract

This assignment is about structural racism in the United States, focusing on police violence against black Americans. We look at what sociologists Bourdieu, Goffman, Wacquant and Hervik can tell on the subject based on their theories. Furthermore, we use Document analysis, the poetic toolkit, and semi-structured interviews to analyze our sources in order to determine the implications that black Americans face. Finally, we explore what action is being taken to combat structural racism and police violence in the United States.
