Student thesis: Termpaper

World Heritage is a concept only used for the most outstanding sites in the world. On the World Heritage list were there in 2012 only 962 sites in the entire world, which indicates that it is only the best of the best that can be allowed to enter the list. Stevns Klint, located in Stevns Municipality, in Denmark was nominated in 2010 for the World Heritage list. In this project we will use Stevns Municipality´s plan concerning the tourism aspect as a background for our own analysis, with the purpose to analyze and discuss the location of the different tourist facilities and how these arrangements can be optimized to improve the area for the future tourism aspects. To research this, maps of the nominated area will be analyzed and discussed, regarding where the infrastructures like places to stay, attractions or the transports are located on these maps, compared to the nominated area. But also at the same time the accessibility to the nominated area will be analyzed as it is related to the transport systems. The results of this analysis are that the infrastructures and the transports, and so the accessibility, are not enough for an area that has applied for the World Heritage list, but also that Stevns Municipality is trying to improve it as they want to make the site more known. For that they are using the new brand of the site to attract more people and at the same time want to plan new infrastructures and tourist areas. Though, for this to be a success then it is extremely relevant that the municipality will do some changes for the most needed points and areas.
