Abstract

Project title: Volunteering The former Danish government presented in 2010 a strategy for the Danish civil society. The strategy establishes integration initiatives of further embedding the civil society into the welfare system. This project is based on the strategy and examines whether the additional involvement of volunteers (skal det være civil society igen?) seamlessly merges with the welfare system. Can the civil society cope with a greater responsibility? Can increased collaboration between the voluntary community and the public employees converge? By using the theory of Self-Determination by Ryan and Deci, the theory of Late Modernity by Anthony Giddens and Danish sociologist Anders la Cour we try to answer these questions.
