This paper is about the design of a price-oriented travel planner. This will be designed as an addition to rejseplanen.dk since it holds many of the core functions needed for any travel planner. Through various empirical methods we will try to obtain a greater understanding of the people in need of better price information during travel searches, and we will design the specifications of the product around those needs. We also examine general concepts regarding visual design, and usability of internet sites, to make our product more appealing. Other than that we use a focus group to test a prototype of our new visual design. We examine the technical possibilities within the current system, so we understand our options for improving the website. We also investigate the reasons for the functionality we wish to implement not being there, including using organizational theory to understand the implications for Rejseplanen A/S if they choose to implement such a solution. We conclude that our product could solve some of the problems regarding a price-oriented travel search, but it needs further testing and development in the technical department to truly solve our problem.
