Abstract

The project behind the making of this report, investigates whether it is possible to devise or adopt a technological solution, based on DR’s already existing system or systems of other organizations, to optimize the acquiring of media license with Danish citizens and thereby minimizing the amount of payment deviants. It does so by gaining an understanding of the main components, tools and procedures that make up the system which DR uses to charge the license. Hereby, the project utilizes this insight to look for advantages and disadvantages to make an assessment of the efficiency of the system. In order to gain a more accurate comprehension of the subjects in question, namely those liable to pay license but refusing, relevant theory in psychology and ethics was implemented to diagnose the issues they have in relation to their payment absence. Based on these inquiries it is concluded that an adjustment of DR’s existing system would prove as an inadequate solution to solving the complication. Instead a proposal is put forward with the intent to make media license an integral part of Denmark’s taxation because of the success this system has demonstrated.
