In the following project we examine where, when and how ethnicity becomes an issue for minority policemen, within the Danish police force. The project takes it’s theoretical point of departure from social constructionism. Which implies, that meaning emerges through relations and interaction between people. Accordingly, the analysis focuses on the social relations that the officers enter into. Thus the private relations, the collegial relations and the daily contact with citizens, are the social spaces the analysis will be oriented towards. The project shows how the minority policemen experience being marked by physical features among other things, the implications this brings about, and how they try to deal with it.
