The Double Gap between Climate Values and Action

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingBook chapterResearchpeer-review

Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to investigate the current climate action deficit at the individual and political levels in the context of institutional capacity thinking. The chapter draws attention to the importance of studying how the institutional capacity of our societal and democratic institutions can overcome current climate action barriers. On the basis of an empirical study, we demonstrate that many climate action and many climate actions, both successful and unsuccessful, remain under-explained at the level of individual agency.
