Abstract
It has remained a main obstacle that the mere voicing of gender in/equality seems to establish two opposite positions in an ongoing fight between two pre-given parties/combatants: Men and (‘too extreme’) Women.
Results of this traditionally dichotomized, discursive practice have been political discussions and initiatives with little or no potential to reach any further than existing relations of gendered knowledge and dominance.
At the same time, negligence and marginalization of gender issues has served as a successful strategy to rule out gender inequality from dominant, political/syndicalist agenda. Together, these phenomena seem to constitute gendered relations and gender inequality as a contested and infested domain of knowledge.
