Abstract

This last chapter homes in on dynamics of joint thinking in line with the ideas about collaborative knowledge production presented in the book. It is a playful collaborative closure of the book. Its purpose is to open up critical and reflexive takes on the topic of research as always political. The chapter simultaneously presents a methodological approach to initiate or move forward a research topic as the chapter is designed as letter-writing followed by a face-to-face conversation. This dialogical dynamic is set up between three scholars from three generations. The written dialogue oscillates between three different broad strands of thought: 1) the urgent need for conversations across difference, 2) the need for economic redistribution and social justice and 3) the promise of collaborative methodologies in production of knowledges. After the letter writing an encounter in real time generated ‘lines of flight’ into productive thoughts about future research and the methodological challenges addressed and raised in Crafting Collaborative Research Methodologies. Leaps and Bounds in interdisciplinary inquiry.
