    Abstract

In actor network theory as well as in new institutional translation theory, translation is identified as the central mechanism in relation to processes of change in organizations. However, the nuances in and differences between the different translation models are often insufficiently specified. Therefore the article explores how the concept of translation in actor-network theory has been translated into new institutional translation theory by scandinavian neoinstitutionalists. On the basis of a sudy of literature and research in the field, a total of 9 different translation models are identified which differ in relation to content as well as basic assumptions. Thus the article makes possible a more precise and nuanced understanding and use of the concept of translation in the future.
