Abstract

In this audioessay I search for the head of the Little Mermaid statue that was sawn off by members of the Danish Situationist movement in the 1960’s and according to urban legend thrown into Utterslev mose- a system of interconnected bogs, overgrown, shallow lakes in the Northwest of Copenhagen. Armed with melancholia and histories of Utterslev mose, I scan the layers of mud and sediment at the bottom of the bog.
