    Abstract

Many memorials are erected in the Faroe Islands. Some of these are beautifull and others lead to debates. First we saw the memorials for people lost at sea, that we can see in almost every town. Later memorials of cultural saints and national heros as V.U. Hammersheimb and Nólsoyar Páll. During the latest times, we have seen many new statues of Tróndur and Sigmundur from the Faroe Saga. Famous industrialist's and a new hook in Klaksvík, to remind us of the fishing with long lines.
