Abstract

The first chapter of the book sets the scene for the book. This includes a discussion of the relation between Political Economy and Social Policy, which is at the core of what this book is about. It also raises a number of challenges and questions related to social policy now and in the years to come. Lastly, the chapter present a short overview of the structure and content of the book, enabling the reader to grasp how and why the book is structured in the way it is.
