Introduction to Graphics Programming in Java

Abstract

Writing graphics applications in Java using Swing can be quite a daunting experience which requires understanding of some large libraries, and fairly advanced aspects of Java. In these notes we will show that by using a small subset of the Swing package we can write a write range of graphics programs. To make this possible we have constructed three small classes that simplifies three of the more complex aspects of graphics programming: 2D-graphics, layout of components, and event-handling.
