Abstract
In this introduction to the issue ”Knowledge and cooperation/collaboration on the net” it is asserted that even if the technology is available, university faculty has not unconditionally accepted it as a tool that may support complex and important tasks such as collaboration and knowledge sharing with students and colleagues. On the basis of a brief characterisation of the nine contributions to this issue of the periodical some strategies are outlined that may motivate university faculty to use ICT for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
