Abstract

It is well known that viral infections play an important role in triggering the onset of multiple sclerosis in genetically susceptible individuals. In this study, we try to find common pathways between multiple sclerosis and viral infections by means of a GEO (Gene Expression Omnibus) database. Our results indicate a response to infection phenotype in MS PBMCs, associated with alternative splitting and disruptions of transcriptional homeostasis.
