Abstract
This case study presents the entrepreneurial journey of Stykka, a Danish company at the forefront of revolutionizing the construction and furniture industry through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and data-driven innovation to design and manufacture furniture for homes and workplaces, especially in support of sustainability. Founded by visionary architect Jarl Vindnæs, Stykka addresses critical environmental and operational challenges of the traditional building industry. The company’s vision is to create high-quality, stylish, fully circular, durable interiors. To support this vision, Stykka has included key innovations such as the use of digital twin technology to provide easy management of products and the use of NFC chip technology to link physical products with their digital twins. These technologies allow for updates, repairs, and future renovations of their physical products. In addition, the integration of this technology not only enhances product longevity but also supports clients in meeting stringent environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
