Description
MInistry of Higher Education and Science Denmark. International Network Framework Grant.
The aim of this network is to bring researchers together in order to develop a platform to study transmedial travel imaginaries (both fictional and historical). More and more people choose travel destinations inspired by their media consumption, by for instance visiting a film location, a themed amusement park or taking part in nostalgic historical recreations. This is an emerging research area that is not yet well understood. How can we undertake the study of these transmedia imaginaries that connect storytelling (fictional and historical) and real places? An open, collaborative approach is needed where different academic perspectives can explore questions of mediated place, audience participation and emotional entanglements.
