Description
Chronic diseases are considered to be the greatest challenge in healthcare today, a challenge that demands the restructuring of healthcare practices and organizations. This PhD. project studies IT applications in patient-centered diabetes care. The project studies day-to-day practices of people with diabetes and their use of mobile disease management technologies from a sociotechnical perspective where diabetes is considered to be an outcome of the association of diverse bodies, knowledges, technologies, treatments, and materialities. The project is based on empirical qualitative research methods such as observations, interviews and ‘following the actors’.
