Project Details
Description
The research project started in 2013 by a pilot research on the conception and practices of citizenship of a group of West African migrants. This group is composed of nomadic fishermen who engage in circular migrations between Nigeria and Mali. Three movies will document their way of life, their activities (fishing, trade & travel) and the processes of their social integration/exclusion. Methodologically speaking the project pay much attention to the camera as a tool for investigation and film/website as a form of knowledge sharing with a variety of audience (including the nomadic fishermen/screening of the movie in Niger; students / teaching; academics/collaborative research website; and broader public/ film festival).
