The ideas, accounts and methodologies in this book have grown out of many human dialogues, moments of thrill and valuable insights produced collaboratively in Denmark, Bolivia, Peru, Sweden, Norway, Mexico and Spain. It also grew out of a wish to contribute to the ongoing and exciting discussions within qualitative poststructuralist research and action research about how research and social change relate to one another. But most of all it is an effort to demonstrate the way our methodological practices as knowledge producers at their best can shape platforms of human encounters capable of destabilizing conventional ideas about difference, norms, academic tradition and experience.
