Chris Peters is co-recipient of this year’s Bob Franklin Journal Article Award, for the article (Against A) Theory of Audience Engagement with News, co-authored with Steen Steensen (OsloMet) and Raul Ferrer-Conill (Karlstad). The award is a collaboration between three leading international journals in media and communication – Journalism Studies, Journalism Practice and Digital Journalism – which focus specially on news and journalism. The award “seeks to recognize the article that best contributes to our understanding of connections between culture and society and journalism practices, journalism studies and/or digital media/new technologies,” and is given to the article published in one of these three journals in a calendar year that is judged to best fulfill the award criteria.
