The Young Academy under The Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters established the award "with the aim of highlighting the importance of the research environment for the individual early career researcher’s success, performance, and well-being, and to recognize everyone's contributions to the academic community."
The Digital Media Lab at Roskilde University was named one out of two runner-ups to the 2026 award at the annual summer party of The Young Academy at Carlsberg Academy 29 May 2026.
