I am a PhD Fellow at the PhD programme in Social Psychology of Everyday Life at the Department of People & Technology, Roskilde University (Denmark). In my research, I am interested in children’s experiences of everyday life, in particular the question of how environments condition child’s possibilities for participating in local communities. I draw from a range of different fields of research, like critical childhood studies, ecological psychology, cultural psychology, and I am particularly inspired by the tradition of cultural historical developmental psychology founded by Vygotsky. My current PhD project explores newly arrived children’s possibilities for participating in Folkeskolen when they start directly in mainstream class without knowing the Danish language (se section on projects).
I have a degree in psychology (cand.psych) from Aalborg University (Denmark) with an exchange at the University of Bergen (Norway). Before my PhD fellowship, I worked at residential institution for children and youths, who are placed outside of their home.
