Personal profile

Research

From a background in sustainable energy engineering I am continuously expanding my scope on socio-ecological matters stewardship and adding new layer of complexity to my problem-oriented R&D efforts. The topics of my work circles to a large extent around the food-energy-material nexus of production and use of biomass as well as the development and analysis of new value chains for a more bio-based and circular economy.

Engineering and experimental R&D | Profound technical knowledge and a strong methodological approach to problem solving and project management. Vast workshop- & laboratory experience working both alone and in coordinated teams. Participated in many technical and experimental R&D projects with commercial as well as academic partners especially within thermal gasification and pyrolysis of biogenic substrates and the related production and use of biochar.

System analysis and quantitative sustainability assessment | Quantitative sustainability assessment including material- and energy flow analysis, footprint accountings and life cycle assessments. Stakeholder and incentives analysis, sector integration and innovative resource management. Design and development of complex systems. Holistic approach to systems analysis, sustainable transition and socio-ecological stewardship. Large interest and expertise in analysis and assessment of the production and use of biochar in various shapes and settings.
