Personal profile

Research

My research advances social psychology by showing how politics and everyday life are intertwined. I study how people experience unemployment and marginalization, revealing how policies, welfare systems, and societal values shape—and are shaped by—people’s daily lives. This approach moves beyond statistics and deficits to understand how individuals navigate in society.

By combining Danish case studies with international comparisons in the US, Slovenia, and France, my work highlights both local and global patterns in how societies govern, include, or exclude young people. This contributes new concepts and perspectives for understanding the social and psychological dynamics of marginalization and everyday life.
