Research
Presently my research activities can be divided into the following topics:
Energy flows and mass balances in industrial and agricultural production. The objective is to use biological/ecological methods for predicting environmental problems and apply findings in environmental planning.
Environmental governance especially related to the water circle, carbon dioxide circle and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The approach is used in Denmark and also in developing countries especially in South East Asia - Lao PDR, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Ecological history covers two aspects; one is to study development of eutrophication and pollen through stratification and measurements in sediments. The other aspect is to analysis the development of environmental regulation and public awareness in order to identify the driving forces in the environmental field.
