Research

Roble Muse is Social Researcher and a seasoned Program Management, Development and MEAL Specialist with 15+ years in experience in humanitarian, development and public sectors in the Horn of Africa and fragile set ups.  He excels in leadership and senior roles with UN agencies, INGOs, and public institutions, focusing on poverty alleviation, food security, development, climate change, market systems, public policy and governance, and research.

In the last decade, Mr. Muse successfully led complex and integrated development, resilience and emergency programs, as well as institutions, notably, the Director General of Somaliland's Ministry of Agriculture, and in key roles with War Child UK, ARC Somalia, EU Somalia, UNFAO's resilience program responding to 2011/12 famine in Somalia and UNDP partnership and MEAL unit. His expertise spans strategic management, program development and management, capacity building, research and MEAL, fundraising and partnership, and team leadership, with an extensive acquittance in humanitarian. development and public sectors.

Academically, Mr. Muse is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Economy and Development at the University of Nairobi and Roskilde University jointly, researching on “Market-based and economic pathways for fostering inclusive and sustainable pastoral development in Somaliland amid climate change challenges”. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Governance from University of Potsdam in Germany and Bachelors in Economics from University of Hargeisa in Somalia. He is Somali art critique, author of a published book (Garasho), public speaker and socioeconomic commentator.
