Personal profile

I find plastic pollution as an anthropogenic threat to ecosystems, and human health, an urgent and interesting area in which to focus my research. The main driver for my Ph.D. is citizen science and how we can learn more about plastic in and around us via public participation in science. I have collaborated and continue to work with colleagues at the University of Vienna within the field of environmental psychology to understand plastic pollution in relation to human behavior.
Ultimately, I am interested in (1) how citizen science can assist mitigation of plastic pollution, and (2) whether/how citizen science activities can alter perceptions, pro-environmental behaviors and engagement of participants.
