Curriculum

Dr. Matias Thuen Jørgensen is Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, Roskilde University, Denmark. He received his Ph.D. in Tourism Management from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017, where he was awarded a full fellowship through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. 

Research areas

Matias is interested in development of novel conceptual approaches to the study of tourism, and how these concepts may be pragmatically applied to solve real world problems. Empirically, his work has focused on emerging tourism markets (China in particular) and the relations between these new outbound markets and the destinations that receive them.
