Research

I am interested in the tourism phenomenon and industry, which lies in the intersection of business studies, sociology and (human) geography. 

My research is concerned with the intersections of tourism with management, community building, sustainability, policy, and the socio-economic impacts of tourism activities.

Dr. Matias Thuen Jørgensen is Associate Professor at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, Roskilde University, Denmark. He received his Ph.D. in Tourism Management from the School of Hotel and Tourism Management, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2017, where he was awarded a full fellowship through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme.
