Research in the History of Physics

Martin Niss’s research in the history of physics centers on the development and use of mathematical models in condensed matter physics. A key focus is the historical trajectory of the Lenz–Ising model, which serves as a case study in how simple models can evolve to play central roles in scientific theory.
