Research

I am associate professor in urban studies and head of the international master program Nordic Urban Planning Studies (joint Nordic master program between Roskilde, Malmö and Tromsø Universities). My research interest relates to critical urban studies and planning, cosmopolitan urbanism, multicultural cities, public space, mobility and immigration, urban security design and politics and everyday life.

I have been involved in several major research projects financed by the Danish Research Council for Social Science. My recent focus has been on developing and extended phenomenological reconceptualization of the political through the concept of everyday politics and politics of hospitality. I have published widely in international journals like Mobilities, Ethnicities, Cities and Antipode.
