Research

Drawing on Anthropology, Sociology, Postcolonial Studies, and Genderstudies, my research fall within the field of cultural encounters both as a theoretical perspective and empirical phenomena. I study encounters where culture and sociocultural categories (particularly gender, race, and ethnicity) are produced and reproduced, and - occasionally - ignored or downplayed. Based on documents, interveview, and observations I have studied municipal integration practices, organised cultural encounters (eg. dialogue initiatives), and diversity policies and practices.

Teaching

I teach and supervise i relation to Kultur og Sprogmødestudier, Cultural Encounters and the bachelorprogramme in the humanities. I have among other taught courses in gender theory, cultural analysis, and research designs.
