Personal profile

Research

I'm a researcher in the intersection of sociology and technology working as a university lecturer (part time) and innovation consultant.

I was the first researcher in Denmark to investigate the Metaverse. I attended the first conference about how to build it in 1995, and wrote the first Danish article about it as a research assistant at Aalborg University. As a Ph.d. student I did the first Danish fieldwork in a metaverse system.

Currently I'm very interested in the social impact and social value of new metaverse technologies. Especially in the combination with distributed ledgers (Blockchain). I'm also very interested in the current development of AI, especially from a cybernetic perspective.

Over the years I have also a.o. worked with internet research, new media, HCI, social economy, social entrepreneurship, stakeholder management, project management, innovation, organisational theory, business ethics, critical theory and philosophy of science.

I have hold various positions in the university sector, e.g. as assistant professor and associate professor.

I teach (part time) at the university of Roskilde at the programmes of Economics and Business Administration, Department of Social Sciences and Business (ISE). I also teach at the Master programme of Social Entrepreneurship and Management, Master in Business Studies and Master in Innovation Management. And at the bachelor programme of social science.

In addition to this I have worked as feature journalist for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR), various newspapers, as well as for various independent media production companies, including my own.
