About me

I am a PhD fellow at the Center for News Research at Roskilde University. I have a BA in rhetoric and sociology from the University of Copenhagen and a MA in Persuasive Design from Aalborg University. Prior to starting my PhD I worked as a digitalization project manager in the public sector.

Current research

My PhD project is part of the research project, Beyond the Here and Now of News, headed by Chris Peters and Kim Schrøder. The research project aims to understand what makes news matter to people and how and why their relationship to news change over time.

My PhD project contributes to this aim by investigating how digital technologies shape people’s news repertoires and mediate a relationship to news. My research current concerns:

  • Focusing on young adults, a key demographic group in both research and industry, I examine how young adults (aged 18-24) become digital news users
  • Using a post-phenomenological framework to establish how aspects of the digital news experience and actual human-technology relations translate in news repertoire formation processes.
  • Understanding the role of news organizations and their audience perceptions, which are themselves digitally mediated, and shape how news organizations design for and target news audiences. I am especially interested in the ‘organizational life’ of data and how different news organizational actors deploy audience data with different and sometimes diverging rationales.
  • Theoretically, my dissertation adds to the growing literature of Media Studies and STS studies.
