My research interest is in the social and cultural aspects of organization and management as they appear in organizing processes and organizational change. I advocate methodological pluralism and have used a wide range of qualitative methods to advance an understanding of how change affects the organization of work, work itself and how change is responded by employees. Moreover, I look at how change is justified and managed. Theoretically I work with Bourdieu’s practice theory, narrative and discourse theory, framing theory and social exchange theory. I am currently editing a book on Bourdieu in organization and management that will appear on Routledge in 2021.
Research areas:
Digitalization and robotisation in hospitals
Professional identity and boundary construction in healthcare
Performance management and work monitoring
Managerial pedagogy
Hospital department merger
Privatization
CSR as employee engagement strategy
Research projects:
2020 - Research responsible for: Human and robot exchanges in the organizational space: the social dynamics of new work configurations in a Danish hospital.
2013 – 2016: Research responsible for: The social aspects of organizational change. An examination of one of the 21 recently established Danish acute care departments (PhD). Department of Language and Communication, University of Southern Denmark. Co-financed by Sygehus Lillebælt.
I teach courses in organization, leadership and HRM.
Additionally, I have previously taught courses in intercultural communication, research methodology and various aspects of communication
I supervise academic theses at all levels

I advocate methodological pluralism and have used a wide range of qualitative methods to advance an understanding of how change affects the organization of work, work itself and how change is responded by employees. Moreover, I look at how change is justified and managed. Specifically I have looked at the standardization of work, merger, professional identity and professionalization, digital technology, robots and automation. Theoretically I work with Bourdieu’s practice theory, narrative and discourse theory, framing theory and social exchange theory. I am currently co-editing a book on Bourdieu in organization and management that will appear on Routledge in 2021.
