Research
I work at the interdisciplinary nexus of communication, organization and artificial intelligence. Within this context, my research focuses on strategic management as a communicative activity, thoroughly entangled with technology.
I am project manager and principal investigator of the Velux-funded research project Strategizing Communication and Artificial Intelligence.
I am co-project manager of the Velux- and Villum-funded 10-year research project Algorithms, Data and Democracy.
I co-chair the research group Artificial Intelligence and Datafied Communication (AIDa).
I hold a PhD from Copenhagen Business School and an MA from the University of Copenhagen. The first was awarded based on a thesis titled “This page is not intended for a US audience: A five-act spectacle on online communication, collaboration and organization”. The PhD assessment committee consisted of Professor Martin Kornberger (Chair), Professor Edith G. Smit and Professor Mark Deuze, and my supervisors were Professor Sine Nørholm Just and Associate Professor Anne Reff Pedersen.
I have had the pleasure of being visiting scholar at USC Annenberg (hosted by Professor Margaret McLaughlin), Center on Organizational Innovation at Columbia University (hosted by Professor David Stark) and ASCoR at Amsterdam University (hosted by Professor Claes H. de Vreese).
Management and Cooperation
I am currently Head of Section, Technology and Publics, at the Department of Communication and Arts. I have served on the Academic Council, as well as the Committee on Gender Equality and Diversity at Roskilde University.
I collaborate with organizations such as 2021.ai, DR, Danish Chamber of Commerce, K1, and Zealand University Hospital, and serve as editorial board member for the International Journal of Strategic Communication, as well as steering committee member for the Global Strategic Communication Consortium.
Teaching
I teach and supervise within areas such as strategic communication, technology management and new media, and chair the MA programme specialization in Public Relations.
In 2023 and 2024, I am chair of the organizing committee for the European Media and Communication Doctoral Summer School.
