Personal profile

Research

Over the past 12 years, I have been working as a curator and producer of contemporary art exhibitions, through institutions such as SixtyEight Art Institute, Chart Art Fair, Rønnebæksholm kunsthal, Rundetaarn, Heartland Festival, Aarhus Kunsthal and Den Frie Udstillingsbygning amongst others. I have developed different treads in my practice, which include both rearsch-based exhibitions, site-related exhibitions, socially oriented projects and most recently performance programs, where I enjoy developing new audience experiences in collaboration with visual artists and institutions.

Project 'Art as a signifier' is a practice-based PhD project that takes its starting point through a number of performance programs produced by Den Frie Udstillingsbygning, where performance formats are taken outside the institution and thereby meet the audience in new ways. The project intends to challenge the concept of what art in the public space is and should be, as well as asking central questions about how performance art can open up new potential both in relation to audience development, the role of the art institution and the relevance of art in society in general.
