Research

I am a political economist who conducts research on sustainability transitions, competition and networks. I have published extensively on degrowth transformations, on the profound changes in how public authorities in Europe regulate competition and on how companies use corporate networks to control markets.

Another longstanding interest is philosophy of science perspectives, esp. critical realism. Critical Realism. Basics and Beyond, written with Peter Nielsen, was awarded the 2021 Cheryl Frank Memorial Prize.
