Research

My research focuses mainly on how tourism companies innovate and how innovation processes in tourism companies and destinations can be improved, for example through networks or user- and employee involvement in innovation and value creating processes.

Themes investigated include experience innovation, sustainability and circular economy, tourist practices, tourism employee practices, employee-tourist encounters, tourism entrepreneurship, tourist experiences, value creation in tourism, nature tourism, destination development and networks in tourism.

I have also researched service encounter-based innovation, other innovation processes and networks in services, bricolage, social networks, social capital, co-creation and user involvement.

I employ collaborative and development oriented methods in companies and organisations. I also use delphi studies, experiments, workshops, surveys and case studies.

I teach and supervise subjects related to innovation, value creation, experiences, tourism.
