Personal profile

Research

I am a social anthropologist and work on topics including processes of inequity in health, gender and disparities in health, the welfare state, and humanitarianism. I hold a M.Sc. in Anthropology from the University of Copenhagen.

For my PhD project "Healthcare in the gaps of the welfare state: A qualitative study of third sector health care services in Denmark", I study the role of the third sector in providing health care for people residing in Denmark without civil registration numbers. I explore how third sector actors interact with the welfare state and navigate migration management policies to facilitate access to primary health care. I'm interested in how these interactions are practiced and the implications they have on how inequity in health is understood and addressed. The project is funded through a non-university PhD grant from the Independent Research Fund Denmark and is hosted by the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The PhD education is facilitated by the Institute of People and Technology at Roskilde University.
