Claus Bundgård Christensen (1968) is Associate Professor of History at Roskilde University, Denmark. 

Primary Research Areas

He has published a number of scholarly books and articles in Danish, English, French and German on The First World War, Crime and Control, The Second World War, Holocaust, Nazism and the Nazi war of extermination at the Eastern front, Right-Wing Extremism, Radicalism.

He has published books and contributions to books at Oxford University Press, Palgrave, Routledge, Bloomsbury, Verlag Ferdinand Schöning, De Gruyter and Presses universitaires de Strasbourg. 

He is the author and co-author of a number of praised books. His latest book is “Følg Wilfred! Radikalisering, revolution og nazistisk subkultur” (On radicalisation and criminality in a Nazi subculture in the 30s) and “War, Genocide and Cultural Memory: The Waffen-SS, 1933 to Today”. “Under hagekors og Dannebrog” (Danes in the Waffen-SS), “Den Sorte Børs” (Black Market Crime during the Occupation and postwar years), “Danskere på vestfronten 1914-1918” (Danes on the Western Front 1914-1918), “Danmark besat-krig og hverdag 1940-45” (Denmark occupied 1940-1945), “Waffen-SS-Europas nazistiske soldater” (Waffen-SS. The European Nazi soldiers).

Forfatter og medforfatter til en række monografier om højreekstremisme, nazisme, besættelsen, Første Verdenskrig, Holocaust, Anden Verdenskrig og kriminalitetshistorie.

Mit ekspertområde er krig, konflikt, kriminalitet, vold, radikalisering, fascisme & nazisme, Holocaust, højreekstremisme, økofascisme, konspirationsteorier.

Jeg har siden 2010 været fast anmelder af fagbøger på Weekendavisen.  

Støtte og bevillinger:

Modtog i 2020 støtte fra Nordisk Ministerråd til udarbejdelse af rapporten: Pan-Nordic and Transnational Dimensions of Nordic Right-Wing Extremism.  

Modtog I 2018 støtte fra Augustinus Fonden til projektet: Wilfred og de danske drenge 1932-50, der handler om nazisten Wilfred Petersen og den radikalisering hans gruppe gennemgik i mellemkrigstiden.

Modtog i 2009 fra Det Frie Forskningsråd til projektet The History of the Waffen- SS. Ideology, Atrocities, and Reckoning with the Past. (Sammen med Niels Bo Poulsen & Peter Scharff Smith).  

Modtog i 2007 forskningsstøtte til projektet Dansker på Vestfronten 1914-1918 fra VELUX Fonden.
