Personal profile

Management and Cooperation

Head of Studies at the international Master's program in Social Entrepreneurship and Management.

I collaborate in the research groups Organisation, Ethics and Social Sustainability (OrgESS) and Learning Education And Pedagogy (LEAP) at RUC. In addition, I am an invited co-researcher in the international research group The International Research Group for Psycho-Societal Analysis (SQUID) www.psycho-societal.org. Furthermore, I am part of the NetEdu project (www.neteduproject.org) in collaboration with fellow researchers from the University of Southern Denmark.

Research

In terms of research, I have moved in the interdisciplinary field between educational research and anthropology. I have touched on areas such as: social entrepreneurship and social innovation; entrepreneurial learning processes; social value and economic anthropology; virtual learning in the social sciences and humanities; social sustainability in general and in tourism; action research; ethnography; as well as social mobility and learning through travel and cultural encounters. I also deal with professional education in pedagogical and social areas.

Teaching

Supervisor profile: I was originally trained as a teacher and worked as such until 2009 when I completed my master's degree in educational anthropology. Since then, I have taken a Ph.D. at IMT, where I have theorized about learning as a social exchange from an economic anthropological perspective. I defended my PhD thesis in 2015.

During my time as an academic, I have done several anthropological fieldworks, mostly in England and the United States, which contributed to my professional interest in youth and volunteers. Most recently, I managed an application project on entrepreneurial and sustainable initiatives in ecotourism, which has had its empirical starting point in Nepal. In addition, I have worked as a middle manager with vocational schools and increased enrollment in vocational schools, transfer, through the development of vocational qualification courses for adult unskilled workers in collaboration with Adult Educational Centres.

In addition to being associated with pedagogy at RUC, I also teach and supervise the international master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Management as well as the master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship. I have also been in charge of IMT’s international summer supplement course since 2017, which integrates foreign students in Danish and RUC’s academic social studies method and Problembased Project Learning. Entrepreneurship, innovation and learning processes have framed my work since 2010 through affiliation with the Center for Social Entrepreneurship (RUC) and the Foundation for Entrepreneurship (fund allocation to the country's higher education).

From 2016-21 I was post.doc. on the project JUMP (Jobs through Exchange, Mobility and Practice) together with Associate Professor Finn Sommer, Europa-Universität Flensburg and Danish and German production schools. We have dealt with the educational and job opportunities of vulnerable young people in an interregional perspective and in geographically peripheral areas.

My research interests are: Entrepreneurial and innovative (learning) processes; social entrepreneurship and social sustainability; non-institutional learning processes; innovation in education (especially young people and higher education); economic and educational anthropology; as well as qualitative method and science theory / philosophy.
