Personal profile

Research

I am a law & society researcher with a focus on how legal doctrine and interpretation reflects and constructs social expectations. My research focus is transitional justice; criminal law; terror law and trials. I am currently following (including attending when possible) terror trials in Denmark, Norway and France. My publications are in conversation with critical legal studies scholars, as well as national law scholars and criminologists. I am also following the work of the Jurisdiccion Especial para la Paz (JEP) in Colombia, the special court created under the 2016 peace accord. This research examines the institutional development of the JEP, the legal doctrine it is producing, and how this addresses social and political challenges in Colombia. Here I am in conversation with political theorists (decolonialism) and transitional justice scholars.
