Personal profile

Research

I am Associate Professor in Public Administration and Politics at the Department of Social Sciences and Business. At the department, I co-lead the research group Roskilde School of Governance (RSG) and I am the deputy leader for the Centre for Research on Public-Private Collaboration (COPS).

Beyond the department, I am also a member of the editorial team of the international journal Public Administration, where I serve as one out of five associate editors, led by Editor-in-Chief Bruce McDonald.

My research revolves around several topics, but the common denominator is public-private collaboration. I am especially interested in how public-private collaboration influences such outcomes as quality and innovation in public services and how public-private collaboration is organized and governed. My research specifically focuses on public-private innovation partnerships, public purchasing, and voucher models.

I use both quantitative and qualitative methods to collect and analyze data, especially surveys, administrative data, and interviews. I have extensive experience with systematic literature reviews as well.

Teaching

I am the subject coordinator for Social Science Methods for Humanities and Practical Statistics. I also teach quantitative methods at bachelor's and master's level and the elective courses 'Evidence and Performance Measurement' and 'Marketization of the public sector, which are offered on a regular basis at the Master's in Public Administration and Politics. At PhD level, I teach and am co-convenor of the course Research Design.
