Dr Angela Bourne (BA (Hons) Queensland University, MA Lancaster University, PhD, University of Bristol) is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Society and Globalisation at Roskilde University in Denmark. She has previously worked at the University of Dundee and the University of Aberystwyth in the United Kingdom. Current research looks at processes, justifications and consequences of banning political parties in European democracies. She has also undertaken research on EU politics, including its impact on devolution in Spain and the Basque Country. Publications include The European Union and the Accommodation of Basque Difference in Spain (2008, Manchester University Press) and articles in Journal of Common Market Studies, Democratization, International Journal of Iberian Studies, Perspectives on European Politics and Society and Regional and Federal Studies. She has edited books on The EU and Territorial Politics Within Member States: Conflict or Co-operation? (Brill, 2004) and European Union Studies (with Michelle Cini, Palgrave, 2006). She teaches on Public Organisation and Governance of the European Union and Political Science basics at Bachelor level and on Europeanization at Masters level.
