Personal profile

In my PhD thesis, I will investigate how big data analysis can be used in research of employment interventions. I have a particular focus on how the use of big data can create an increased focus on the heterogeneity that characterizes complex employment initiatives with diverse target groups. I am inspired by a holistic perspective on employment policy, where the path to employment is a result of many factors and events in both the past and present, which include employment, health, education and social affairs. At the same time, I want to show how big data analysis methods can also be used to study effect and causality questions in public policy. In this regard, I will compare results from a big data approach with the frequently used evidence-based and experimental approach to effect and causality. I hope that my results can make employment research more applicable to practitioners and decision-makers and ultimately lead to even more targeted and qualified employment efforts.
