Personal profile

Research

I’m a sociologist of religion with a research focus on contemporary forms of Christianity in Scandinavia as well as the global South. Through my PhD and current postdoc project, I study Catholic Filipino migration to Denmark and the Catholic Church as an institution. I’ve also worked on the relations between the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Danish population through national surveys and qualitative interviews.

I am a part of the collective project "The Catholic Ethic and the Spirit of Global Modernities. Global Catholicism in a Danish and Transnational Context" lead by Bjørn Thomassen and Andreas Bandak.

Teaching

I’ve taught courses in sociology of religion, research methods in the study of religion, migration studies, and gender theory. I’ve also supervised thesis students on a broad range of topics within the field of migration as well as MA and BA projects in religion and society. In the academic year of 2021/22, I'll be involved in the courses on global religion, global sociology and sociology of law.
