I am professor in Business Studies at the Department of Social Sciences and Business, Roskilde University, Denmark.
My main research interests are at the intersection between digitalization, innovation and service sector and include value (co-) creation, digital transformation, user driven innovation and user involvement in innovation, digital innovation, adoption and diffusion of information and communication technologies (ICT) especially in SMEs. Recently I am getting interested in the role of Artificial Intelligence in organizations.
Over the years I have participated to a number of Danish and European research projects all focusing on solving important societal problems concerning digitalization and innovation, especially in private and public services such as facility management and consulting services.
Methodologically, I conduct mostly qualitative studies, but I also conduct research based on both qualitative and quantitatve methods.
I am the founder and Editor-in-Chief for over ten 10 years of the "International Journal of E-Services and Mobile Applications (IJESMA)" and I serve on the editorial board of several journals.
I have been visiting scholar in several universities including University of Texas at Austin, USA, University of Michigan, USA, Queensland University of Technology, Australia and University of Maryland at College Park, USA.
I hold a Ph.D in business administration from Roskilde University, an MBA from the University of Maryland at College Park, USA and a M.Sc. from the University of Bari, Italy.
I have a broad teaching portfolio including courses from 1st semester at Bachelor level to Master and Ph.D level on subjects mostly related to innovation and digitalization (e.g. Innovation at Ph.D level, Digitalization and Value Creation at Master level), research methods (e.g. Research Design at Ph.D level, Master thesis seminar at Master level, Social Science Analysis Strategies at Bachelor level,) and supervision of students from bachelor to Ph.D level.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
